The '60s: Let's Do it Again
Revolution
In the words of John Lennon, I couldn’t have said it better. It is time to change the world again and make a movement like the one that started in the 60’s and 70’s. It eventually died out and the supposed hippies with a cause to really make a difference grew up, had kids and became apathetic yuppies. Not all of them of course. My point is that through the music that can change people like the Beatles comes a higher enlightened thinking and consciousness for all. Don’t let the government and propaganda put down the freedoms and movements that can change the world for the better. Always question things and become educated.
Have you ever noticed the change when you look at the music industry of the 60’s and 70’s to the music industry of today? Back then, artists like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and CSNY were all coming out with great music at the same time that really said something and made social, political, and/or cultural statements. Now, most of the music that comes out is all about superficial temporary things like sex and money. Do these things matter when you die? No, what matters is what you leave behind and how you treat the earth and the creatures of it including your fellow mankind.
I want to spearhead the campaign to wake up society through the universal messages of music and make people truly change to make the world a better and safer place where we can reach a higher consciousness level together. I attribute the decline of the music industry to technology mainly because people can now cover up their bad singing or playing by simple editing in Pro Tools on a computer. Back in the 60’s and 70’s you had to be the real deal because all you had was a couple of takes to nail it on tape. If you wanted to edit that, you would have to hand slice and paste the tape back together. This is why all the artists of the 60’s and 70’s, before the technological revolution, couldn’t fake it therefore weeding out the bad music. Our dumbed down society has taken on the listening of auto-tuned four on the floor bump and grind music that stems from primal instincts not intellectual thought and evolution. Let’s start thinking with our brains and look toward a hopeful future where there is no persecution for anyone. Let’s stop thinking with our pelvises and ignoring the amazing gift of the mind. The mind is there for a reason, to use it and to reason.
Hopefully the music of “Lucid” touches you and can help to inspire some change for the better in this world. Hopefully it makes people think about some of the injustices that we face everyday and can help them to find their way. Hopefully it’s not too late for humanity and we can really start making a difference. I have hope for the future and if there are any other like minded people and/or musicians that feel the same way, please reach out to me and let’s do this together.

Revolution (the Beatles)
You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
Ah
ah, ah, ah, ah, ah...
You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free your mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
all right, all right, all right
all right, all right, all right

“Movements come and movements go
Leaders speak, movements cease
When their heads are flown
'Cause all these punks
Got bullets in their heads
Departments of police, the judges, the feds
Networks at work, keepin' people calm
You know they went after King
When he spoke out on Vietnam
He turned the power to the have-nots
And then came the shot” –Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against The Machine, “Wake Up”)
