The Matt Nelson Trio is a diverse jazz trio with an impeccable reputation for providing quality live entertainment. The Matt Nelson Trio is headed into the studio to record their debut album in May of 2010. It will be released under the Chicago jazz record label, Chicago Sessions. The album will consist of all originals mainly written by Matt Nelson with some other songs and material contributed by Matt Nischan and Graham Czach.

Matt Nelson and Matt Nischan grew up together in the small town of Antioch, IL and have been playing together since they were in 2nd grade. They shared the love of music and have been studying music their whole lives. In 2004, they met Graham Czach and formed a working jazz trio. The band usually performs standards and the like at corporate events, weddings, private parties, and any other events that calls for their talent. After years of performing around the Midwest and writing their own compositions, they are finally going into the studio to record a highly anticipated debut album.

All three of them work closely in other projects as well. Matt Nischan co-produced Lucid with Graham Czach and Nelson performed on it. Czach and Nelson are also a part of the Aaron Koppel Quartet. Throughout the years of great friendship and performing excellent music, the chemistry of this group is amazing and their upcoming debut album will be something to keep ear open for.

Recent high profile performances include the DiCarlo Wine tasting, Belvedere Bridal Conventions, a Clark Construction Event (famous for building the Chicago Hyatt), performances at the Ritz Carlton, Embassy Suites, McCormick Place, and the prestigious Polish Film Festival and Awards Ceremony held in Chicago.
